The   Cuff n Catch  is the most efficient way to teach the mechanics of “how to catch” by training proper hand position by bringing the hands up simultaneously, the proper arm alignment for soft hands, repetition of tucking ball away, and the concentrated focus for sure hands.

For Receivers: Cuff n Catch

The Cuff n Catch is the most efficient way to teach the mechanics of “how to catch”. The Cuff n Catch will automatically train the proper hand position by bringing the hands up simultaneously, the proper arm alignment and hinge for soft hands, repetition of tucking ball away, and the concentrated focus for sure hands.

Cuff n Catch not only trains the hands, but also the head, the eyes, and the continuation of the neck muscles during the critical time of the catch itself. Once the skill is developed, the only thing a receiver needs to concentrate is the flight of the ball, adjusting his pattern, and attacking the ball when it reaches a level of the highest possible point off the ground to snag the ball out of the air.

*Coaching Tip: Tell the player to always keep his nose pointed at the ball until the throwing hand is removed from the cuff.

For Quarterbacks: Cuff n Pass

The Cuff n Pass keeps the throwing motion more compact.  With any traditional offense, but especially these new spread offenses, the key is quickness. Elongated motions to wind up and throw the ball diminish a Quarterback’s effectiveness in getting the ball released quickly.  Cuff n Pass comfortably straps the athlete into a more compact throwing motion.

*Coaching Tip:  The imaginary line that is created by wearing the
Cuff n Pass across the front of the chest should be pointed at the target.  Notice that the feet will need to quickly follow the shoulders or the target line created by the Cuff n Pass.
